Back to Work

It is just a few days shy of six months since the last time my hubby stepped foot into his office. The whole week of his birthday I teased him relentlessly about how his birthday was cursing me because it was the same week as a time change and full moon and our kids were acting NEXT LEVEL. Little did we know the day after his birthday the entire world would shut down, his job included.⁣

I could write a whole post about the stresses that came along with his six months out of work but those stresses seem slight compared to what many, many people are facing in the world right now. Instead I’m going to tell you about how we had more time as a family in the last six months than we’ve had in the last six years. I’m going to tell you how every morning instead of rushed goodbyes he got to play for hours on the floor with his kids. I’m going to tell you about how instead of being out the door before anyone else was awake and coming home after everyone was asleep he has been able to be there for every good morning and every goodnight. Instead of being sent pictures from the adventures the kids and I have taken he has been IN the pictures.⁣

Years from now when we sit and reminisce I don’t believe we will forever remember 2020 as the year we sat up at night worried about money. I think years from now our family will remember 2020 as the year we made more memories in 6 months than we had been able to in our first six years as a family.⁣
